One Map, Three Narratives

Through selection, omission, framing, scale, orientation, naming and indexing, the author of the map presents a selective and distorted view of reality. This distortion is a key characteristic of maps. “To portray meaningful relationships for a complex, three-dimensional world on a flat sheet of paper or a video screen, a map must distort reality” (Monmonier 1991).

What’s all this?

I've created this site to document and share research and activities related to my Masters of Arts program. It's partially a blog, partially a journal, partially whatever you want it to be. Feel free to have a good look around at what I'm reading, seeing, writing and thinking about. I'd love to see/hear your comments.
